Introduction
You will work in either the Members and Members’ Staff Services Team (MMSST) or the People Management Team (PMT).
The People Management Team (PMT) provides a broad range of expert HR support across all teams of the House of Commons. The Members and Members’ Staff Services Team (MMSST) offers Members and their staff support and guidance.
The Roles
People Partner
This role is within PACT, supporting the strategic and daily HR needs of teams across the House of Commons.
The purpose of the People Partner role is to:
- Provide support and advice to managers on complex HR issues.
- Manage casework through all stages.
- Coach and develop Line Managers through development sessions.
- Provide information about HR policies and procedures to staff.
This role is part of MMSST, which provides high-volume case management guidance in complex HR matters.
The purpose of the Members’ People Partner role is to:
- Support and advise Members and their HR proxies in managing employee relations casework.
- Offer appropriate support and advice on HR issues.
- Coach, develop, and advise Members and their HR proxies.
- Develop clear and consistent HR policies, procedures, and guidance.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate:
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation, relevant case law, and experience advising line managers on complex casework.
- Experience delivering excellent customer service.
- The ability to work successfully within a team, upholding values of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and deliver results.
- Experience analyzing data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
