We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join Housing Solutions as our Head of Income, Lettings and Tenancy Sustainment. This key senior role brings collective responsibility across income, lettings and tenancy sustainment services, ensuring a joined‑up, customer‑focused approach that supports residents to successfully access and sustain their homes.

The role oversees a broad portfolio, including income collection of approximately £53m, and is equally focused on driving high performance across lettings and tenancy sustainment. You will ensure homes are allocated efficiently, void loss is minimised, and residents are supported to maintain their tenancies, with a strong emphasis on early intervention and prevention.

Central to the role is oversight of a Head of Service, with a clear focus on delivering targeted, outcome‑driven projects across lettings and tenancy sustainment. This will drive improvements in tenancy success, reduce turnover and former tenant debt, and embed continuous improvement across these interconnected service areas. The postholder will ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and policies while fostering a culture of performance, collaboration and excellent customer service.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Housing & Resident Engagement, you will also deputise where required and contribute to the wider strategic direction of the organisation.

You must have experience of working in a customer‑focused environment with sometimes complex problems that need solving within tight deadlines within a front‑line customer facing role. We are looking for a confident and forward‑thinking leader who can operate at a strategic and operational level.

  • Significant experience leading income management or housing services in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment
  • A proven track record of improving team performance and service delivery
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience developing and motivating teams
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and present insights at senior level
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, income recovery, and welfare benefits
  • Experience managing budgets and delivering against financial targets

The successful applicant will require an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate which is considered satisfactory to Housing Solutions.
