We are looking for a Community Maintenance Team member to join our Estate Services team, providing a high-quality, customer-focused caretaking and cleaning service across our housing estates and communal areas. This is a varied, hands-on role where you will help ensure our internal and external areas are clean, safe, well maintained and welcoming for residents, customers and visitors.
You will carry out routine inspections, report defects, complete minor repairs where required, respond to maintenance issues and support the wider team in delivering an efficient estate service. You will also use handheld devices to record daily tasks and ensure equipment and materials are used safely and effectively.
About you
You will have experience of providing a front-line service to customers, along with practical experience in general cleaning, basic maintenance and simple DIY tasks. You will be confident using handheld devices such as tablets and will understand the importance of health and safety, safe working practices and using cleaning equipment and chemicals appropriately.
We are looking for someone who is positive, practical and self-motivated, with good communication skills and a helpful approach when working with residents, colleagues and contractors. You will be able to manage your time effectively, work well as part of a team and be comfortable moving and lifting items such as bins or rubbish as part of the role. The ability to drive and work across the borough as required is essential. The successful applicant will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate which is considered satisfactory to Housing Solutions.
