We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Compliance Manager to lead our compliance operations across a diverse property portfolio. This role sits within the Asset Management department and is responsible for ensuring our organisation remains fully compliant with fire safety, asbestos, legionella, gas, electrical and mechanical regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee servicing, repairs and installations, working closely with the Head of Fire and Compliance and other senior leaders to maintain safe living and working environments.
- Produce assurance reports for the Executive Team, manage contractor performance, procure suppliers, and lead audits across all compliance areas.
- Manage fire safety equipment, assisted living systems, catering and laundry installations, and other critical infrastructure across our housing, supported living, and care home stock.
- Maintain compliance with the Fire Safety Order 2005, ensure valid fire risk assessments are in place, and coordinate timely completion of fire risk actions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and residents to promote fire safety awareness, support health and safety training, and contribute to major incident planning.
- Line management responsibilities and a budget of approximately £3.5 million.
- Other duties as required within the scope of the role.
Qualifications and experience
- Strong background in housing, facilities management, or local authority environments.
- Relevant compliance qualification; ideally IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
- Membership in ASCP or a similar professional body is desirable.
- Experience managing compliance maintenance programmes, fire safety remediation, and working with asbestos, legionella, gas and electrical systems.
- Solid understanding of building compliance regulations, the Fire Safety Order 2005, and risk assessment protocols.
- Ability to produce reports for senior management, communicate effectively across all levels, and work under pressure with a varied workload.
- Strong administrative and IT skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Keystone software or compliance portals (Zeta Safe, Vision, Risk Hub) advantageous.
- Available to participate in an out-of-hours rota and major incident response; access to a roadworthy car.
- Basic DBS certificate required.
