About the role

We’re looking for a proactive and supportive Community Services Team Leader to oversee the day‑to‑day delivery of our sheltered and extra care housing services. You’ll lead a small team of Sheltered Housing Officers and an Extra Care Housing Officer, ensuring residents receive a high‑quality, responsive and compassionate service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of Sheltered Housing Officers and an Extra Care Housing Officer.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day delivery of sheltered and extra care housing services.
  • Ensure residents receive high‑quality, responsive and compassionate service.
  • Support tenancy and estate management, residents with a wide range of housing‑related issues.
  • Maintain safe, welcoming, well‑managed schemes.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety, fire safety checks, safeguarding and involvement in resident care plans.
  • Work closely with partners, internal teams and external agencies to provide the right support at the right time.
  • Shape resident engagement activities, organise community events and strengthen schemes and neighbourhoods.
  • Act as a visible, approachable presence across schemes, resolving issues quickly and supporting colleagues.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have experience leading a team or working at a senior level in a frontline housing or community‑based role and demonstrate a genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer service. They must be confident working in a fast‑paced environment, be comfortable dealing with complex or sensitive situations, and stay calm, organised and solution‑focused when challenges arise. Effective communication and adaptability are essential, with strong record‑keeping, administrative skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with housing systems and Microsoft Office is required.

Key Requirements

An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate which is considered satisfactory to Housing Solutions is required.
