To contribute to the Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) vision for “creating great places where people want to live”. As directed by the Team Manager, you will provide additional data and information as required in the development of strategy and policy for the functions which you support.

To ensure a high level of compliance with statutory reporting obligations. To support performance reporting and management function for the housing services teams. To lead on Government and other consultations, producing initial analysis and collating draft responses for senior management approval. To actively contribute to corporate and service planning, policy and decision making. To develop and keep under review, the Housing & Property Services performance management framework. To ensure the EFDC’s Housing & Property Services meet statutory data submissions on time and with accurate returns. To ensure that EFDC Housing & Property Services are aware of our obligations set by the Housing Regulator and any related legislation and are ready for inspection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deputise for the Team Manager as appropriate.
  • Uphold the Council’s governance mechanisms, ensuring appropriate standards of performance, operational effectiveness, probity, safeguarding, risk management, safety, equality and open government are maintained.
  • Participate in projects to achieve the most effective services possible for the community, partners and the Council.
  • Service
    • To identify trends and themes emerging from local and wider data to inform service planning and improvement plans.
    • To produce annual reports on performance, satisfaction and operational activity (e.g., lettings) as necessary.
    • To coordinate a programme of policy reviews and ensure that the Housing Management Team are aware of when policies and strategies need to be reviewed.
    • To coordinate reviews of overarching policies and strategies as necessary.
    • To contribute to regular reporting to the Housing Management Team.
    • To contribute to the provision of data, set in a national and local context, that enables future planning.
    • To provide briefings on industry development to support colleagues in their decision making.
    • To coordinate responses to relevant Government consultations and ensure timely and relevant responses.
