Hours: Part time hours

We currently have a great opportunity for a general assistant to join our Care Plus team at The Sandford Nursing Home on a permanent basis. We’re looking for a caring, dedicated professional to bring our values to life and ensure our customers receive outstanding services.

The Sandford Nursing Home, Church Stretton, Shropshire is a place our residents call home. It's a happy, welcoming atmosphere set amongst the Shropshire hills with luxurious accommodation and expert, nursing-led care.

The Role

As a general assistant, you will ensure that the residents live in a clean and safe environment. You will assist with the preparation of meals and snacks for residents within guidelines laid down by the home manager and cook, ensuring the service delivered promotes the independence, dignity, rights and choices of the people that we work with.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide an excellent customer focus to residents
  • To provide a clean and safe environment for our residents
  • Ensure cleanliness of bedrooms, lounges, dining area, corridors, bathrooms and toilets
  • Use of domestic type laundry equipment for the care of linen and clothing, including washing and ironing
  • Carrying out dining room duties i.e., laying and clearing tables
  • Washing up all items used in the kitchen area
  • Transport meals to dining room and other eating locations as required
  • Maintain cooking and storage areas in a clean and tidy state in line with cleaning schedules
  • Simple preparation of food as required by the cook

Due to the nature of this post, the role is subject to an Enhanced with Adult Barred DBS disclosure.
