A new exciting opportunity has arisen for a caretaking role within our Environmental Services team. Responsible for the safety, security, and cleanliness of Stockport Homes buildings; you must always deliver an excellent level of customer service, even when faced with challenging behaviours. You’ll be required to communicate effectively with your manager and colleagues to ensure all work is completed and, where necessary, to solve problems as they arise. Working pro-actively on areas which require the most intensive cleaning, you must be flexible and open to change, able to use IT applications and support our team’s vision to grow and develop. You should complete any training required to carry out the job safely, protecting both yourself and others around you, and be aware to report any safeguarding issues. You will be responsible for maintaining adequate stock levels on site so all cleaning and maintenance tasks can be carried out efficiently and effectively.

  • Ensure the safety, security and cleanliness of Stockport Homes buildings and deliver excellent customer service at all times, including when faced with challenging behaviours.
  • Communicate effectively with your manager and colleagues to ensure all work is completed and problems are resolved as necessary.
  • Work pro-actively on areas requiring the most intensive cleaning; be flexible and open to change.
  • Utilise IT applications to support the team’s vision to grow and develop.
  • Complete required training to carry out the job safely and report safeguarding issues as needed.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels on site to ensure cleaning and maintenance tasks can be carried out efficiently.
  • Drive and work flexibly across a 7-day pattern with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work and customer interactions.
  • Have a good eye for detail; ensure no job, however small, is overlooked.

Desirable: previous experience in caretaking, cleaning or high-reach window cleaning; training provided if not.

Qualifications and Requirements: Full driving licence is required. Ability to drive and work across a 7-day pattern; positive, enthusiastic approach to work and customers; strong attention to detail. Desirable prior experience in caretaking, cleaning or high-reach window cleaning; all relevant training will be given.
