We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual for the role of Silver Talk Community Volunteer Coordinator in the Silver Talk Team. The team are at the forefront of Karbon’s approach to tackling social isolation in the over 50’s.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our small team that supports the Silver Talk community. Loneliness and social isolation have a major impact on people’s lives across the region. For over 12 years, our befriending service has been supporting residents in providing a weekly call to those most in need.

Based at our Hexham Office but with a large amount of field based work across West Northumberland, and the opportunity to work from home, you will lead on developing our face-to-face befriending offer. This will involve recruiting and working with volunteers and working with a wide range of partners to arrange a series of regular and one-off events in local community venues to get older people talking.

About you
We are looking for an individual that enjoys working with people, is enthusiastic, organised and reliable. We are a small team where flexibility and adaptability are key and looking for someone who enjoys the challenges working with our Silver Talk community provides.

Key Information

– Silver Talk Community Volunteer Coordinator– 12 month fixed term role with opportunities for extension dependent on funding
– Salary is £ £25,556 per annum
– Location: Hexham
– 37 hours per week with agile working
