Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for Housing Support Officers to join our Community Service team. This role provides support to customers by ensuring appropriate information and advice is given to assist them to sustain their tenancies.

You will maintain a caseload of customers and deliver a person-centred support to those who often present with complex needs requiring a skilled response e.g. those in crisis, with complex welfare benefit issues or at risk of homelessness. You will provide advice and guidance regarding housing, health, social care, budgeting, benefits, debt management and employment.

You will empower customers to develop the necessary skills and motivation to improve their lives and successfully sustain independent living.

About You

We are looking for someone who has experience of providing support, advocacy or advice and guidance work in a housing, support, health, social care or customer service setting, with an awareness of the issues affecting vulnerable people. You will need to be solution focussed, have effective communication skills including the ability to liaise with a wide range of customers, a positive attitude towards team working, be self-motivated and own an ability to manage time and prioritise workloads.

Full training will be given within a supportive team.

Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be able to drive with access to your own vehicle or alternative transport.

The successful candidate will also be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
