We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual for the role of Housing Officer in the Area 1 Housing Team. The team covers general needs housing in North East of Northumberland.
This post is fixed term for 1 year to cover maternity.
About the role
You’ll wow us with your enthusiasm and demonstrate that you have the ability, attitude and interpersonal skills to build strong and effective relationships with customers and colleagues and support the work of Karbon in our communities.
The Housing Officer role involves visiting tenants, customer contact visits, low level Anti-social behaviour, Estate Inspections & Allocations.
It goes without saying that you will have good organisation, time management and ICT skills. But most importantly you will be great with people.
About you
You should have excellent communication skills and the ability to plan and prioritise your own workload often working to targets and tight deadlines.
You will be part of a team but the role does require the ability to work on your own initiative and carry out lone working in the community and in tenant’s homes.
Previous knowledge and experience within a social housing environment, housing legislation and knowledge of welfare reform changes would be an advantage.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential.

- Housing Officer – Fixed term post expected for 1 year until October 2026
- Salary is £35,995 per annum plus a Karbon car payment of £2,317 per annum
- Location: Morpeth/Gosforth
- Regular travel will be required
- 37 Hours per week with agile working
