This role sits at the heart of Home Group in Scotland. You shape how we show up, how we speak, and how we are trusted. You protect and grow our reputation, support leaders to make good decisions, and help customers, partners and communities clearly understand who we are and why our work matters. You work closely with senior leaders, guide big conversations, and turn complex or sensitive issues into clear, trusted messages. You help customers influence what we do, using insight and feedback to improve services and build stronger communities.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and deliver clear communications that protect and strengthen Home Group Scotland’s reputation with customers, partners, media and regulators.
  • Handle media interest calmly, building strong and trusted relationships.
  • Support the Director of Scotland with clear advice, sound judgement and practical options.
  • Gather customer insight and make sure real feedback shapes plans, improves services and builds trust.
  • Track policy and sector changes, explaining what matters in plain, useful language.
  • Guide Community Connector work, helping people feel heard, bringing partners together and turning ideas into local impact.

You bring:

  • Strong communications experience, especially with complex, sensitive or fast moving topics.
  • A calm, thoughtful approach to reputation and media work.
  • The ability to build trust and influence across leaders, partners, journalists, customers and colleagues.
  • Curiosity about policy, public opinion and sector trends, turning insight into practical advice.
  • Experience using feedback and insight to improve services without adding noise.
  • A collaborative mindset bringing together the right people at the right time.

The practical bits:

  • 17.5 hours per week, with flexible working patterns.
  • One day per week in a Scotland office or on site.
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
