Overview:
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible.
You will assist with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and social interaction.
Your focus will be on empowering the people we support to make their own choices, helping them achieve their personal goals, and promoting their dignity and respect.
Key
Responsibilities: Provide person-centered care and support to individuals, tailored to their unique needs and preferences.
Assist with daily living tasks, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
Support with medication management and administration, following established guidelines.
Encourage and facilitate participation in social, educational, and recreational activities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided.
Promote independence and support individuals in making choices and decisions.
Foster positive relationships with the individuals supported, their families, and the wider care team.
Adhere to health and safety guidelines and organizational policies at all times.
Skills & Experience: Previous experience in a care or support role is desirable but not essential.
A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with individuals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
A willingness to undertake relevant training and development opportunities.
An understanding of safeguarding principles and confidentiality.
