This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy. Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week / 70 hours over two weeks (nine-day fortnight).
Location: This is a mobile role covering Gloucestershire and Herefordshire; the successful applicant must be based within one of these areas.
The role: We are currently looking to recruit a Building Surveyor to join our Asset Management team here at Housing 21. Within the role of Building Surveyor you will provide professional surveying and technical support, contributing to the smooth and efficient delivery of the Asset Management strategy. You will work independently in supporting the delivery of Housing 21’s technical service function which provides effective capital investment, cyclical, fire safety and statutory maintenance services, to time and budget, in line with legislation, Housing 21 policy, capital programme and strategic objectives. This is a mobile role where frequent travel across the area you cover will be required in order to fulfil the requirements of the role.
What we’re looking for: The essential requirements for the role include:
- Degree in a construction related discipline or relevant experience.
- Significant demonstrable experience in a surveying role in a housing association, private practice, local authority, or similar.
- Full contract administration responsibilities of a range of technical and complex major works projects; including preparing tender documentation, cost analysis and budgetary control, site management, supervising contractors, quality control and certification.
- Robust understanding of current health and safety legislation, CDM (including Principal Designer experience) and comprehensive knowledge of other building related statutory obligations.
- Robust knowledge and experience of Building Safety and Compliance good practice and statutory requirements.
