Overview

Within this new role you will support and assist the Regional Senior Leadership Team and Operational Team in managing a portfolio of Extra care services in a defined geographical patch to ensure high quality housing and care services are maintained and resident satisfaction is achieved. You will support the Regional Extra Care Managers by ensuring consistent management cover for Extra Care schemes without a dedicated manager, prioritising service quality and our residents\' experience, whilst ensuring employee engagement. The successful candidate will provide an enhanced and pro-active management support to regional teams, with a focus on intensive support, action planning and oversight for Extra Care schemes identified through our data as at risk of non-compliance or poor-quality. You will also assist in the management support within the Region for change initiatives, ensuring schemes flagged as outliers are provided with additional support and coaching ensuring the change is successfully embedded. This is a mobile role where frequent travel across the area will be required to fulfil the requirements of the role. Areas to be covered include; Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire, West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Bristol and Devon.

Responsibilities

Support and assist the Regional Senior Leadership Team and Operational Team in managing a portfolio of Extra care services to ensure high quality housing and care services, and resident satisfaction. Provide enhanced, pro-active management support to regional teams with intensive support, action planning and oversight for at‑risk schemes. Ensure consistent management cover for Extra Care schemes without a dedicated manager, prioritising service quality and residents’ experience, while promoting employee engagement. Assist in management support for regional change initiatives and provide additional coaching to schemes flagged as outliers to ensure successful embedding of change. Travel across the region is required.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Experience of working within a management capacity within social care / housing
  • Experience in implementing SMART action plans to achieve timely improvements through effective coaching, mentoring and management
  • Experience of delivering training to others
  • Good knowledge of CQC regulations and associated legislation
  • Good knowledge of the Social Housing Sector and the relevant legislation
  • Understanding and knowledge of:
    • Health & Safety Legislation
    • Mental Capacity Act 2005
    • DOLS and LPS
    • Equality Act 2010
    • Care Act 2014
    • Safeguarding Adults
    • Mental Health Act 1986
    • Multi-agency risk assessment meetings

  • Working in partnership with local authorities and building and maintaining relationships
  • Good general standard of education with GCSEs (Grade C or above) in English and Maths or relevant experience
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. Diploma in Social Care level 4/5 and at least level in the Chartered Institute of Housing or be prepared to work towards it)
