Overview

Hours: 20 hours per week. Shift Pattern: Must be available for various shifts, early and late along with alternative weekends.

You will be part of a friendly, supportive team working with residents who live independently in their own apartments within our schemes, which also include communal lounges, gardens, cafés/bistros and hair salons. You will build strong relationships as you work with familiar residents and colleagues every day, and you can feel valued as managers and assistant managers in Extra Care started as Care Workers in our schemes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high standards of care to residents, enabling them to live their best lives regardless of care needs.
  • Support residents with household and domestic tasks, such as laundry, shopping, and cleaning; assist with financial transactions such as paying bills.
  • Prepare meals, drinks and snacks where necessary.
  • Encourage and enable residents to follow agreed care plans.
  • Assist residents with getting up in the morning, personal care including washing/bathing and dressing; help with undressing and going to bed in the evening; support with taking medications as required.
  • Put resident wellbeing at the heart of the service and work with managers and key agencies to keep them informed of progress.

Additional Information

  • £12.96 per hour, full-time equivalent £23,648 per annum (based on 35 hours per week).
  • Receive benefits including Holiday Pay, Occupational Sick Pay, Maternity Pay and access to Health Cash Plan.
  • Support to achieve relevant qualifications and the option to join the Extra Care Academy to progress into management.
  • An offer of employment is subject to satisfactory completion of an enhanced disclosure check, satisfactory references, and induction training.
