We are looking for an experienced Marketing Officer (ideally, more than five years’ experience) to join our Marketing and Communications Team. Through a combination of new developments and acquisitions, our portfolio is growing – as is the demand for older people’s housing which is why we are recruiting! We need someone to lead and deliver high-performing marketing campaigns that drive measurable lead generation, helping us reach our target audience and finding new and innovative ways to do so.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll plan, execute, and optimise multi-channel campaigns, manage reporting, tracking and analytics, and continuously improve website performance and conversion rates for enquiries. As part of a multi-disciplinary marketing and communications team you’ll be the link between marketing, design, digital platforms, and sales — ensuring every campaign launches successfully and makes an impact. Whether it’s marketing new or existing Extra Care and Retirement Living properties, producing material to promote new developments and acquisitions, or managing and reporting on data, you will be at the heart of it.

While the role is predominantly home based, the successful candidate will be required to visit Housing 21 schemes and villages across England, with occasional overnight stays, as required and attend monthly face to face team meetings, usually held at our Head Office in Birmingham.

Key responsibilities
  • Campaign strategy and execution: plan and manage end-to-end lead generation campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, and LinkedIn. Build and optimise landing pages, brief designers/agencies, and monitor budgets for cost-effective results.
  • Graphic and video design: creation and/or editing of marketing materials for digital and print, including brochures, flyers, posters, case studies, and content for social media.
  • Tracking and analytics: own tracking setup via Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics. Analyse performance and provide actionable insights.
  • Website optimisation: update and maintain scheme pages and content, including copywriting, videos and photography, and compelling storytelling. Implement SEO best practices and optimise UX for conversions.
  • Collaboration and reporting: act as the interface between marketing and sales. Report on budgets, ROI, lead quality, and conversion performance. Support the Marketing Manager and other team members, including the Marketing Executives, with any additional duties or tasks, acting up and taking the lead during any periods of absence of your line manager.

It’s a great time to join us. Did we mention we’re a Platinum Investors in People organisation, placing us among the top two percent of organisations assessed? We’re passionate about people and support our employees to do what they do best, whether that’s through flexible working, learning new skills or being part of a friendly and supportive workplace culture. We also offer a great benefits package including Blue Light Card discount, holiday trade scheme, volunteer days, Occupational Sick Pay, Occupational Maternity Pay and more.

As part of our commitment to our employees and offering flexibility, we now offer a nine-day fortnight, providing employees with the opportunity to work their hours across nine days and have a three-day weekend every other week. Further details on how this works will be discussed with successful candidates upon offer being made.

With an exciting national development programme for older people’s housing, there’s never been a better time to join Housing 21.

Closing date for applications is 11 February 2026, interviews will be held on 16 February 2026.
