The Delivery Authority is responsible for developing and delivering the work to the scope, budget and timescale agreed by both Houses of Parliament. Working closely with the Parliamentary R&R Client function which is a Joint Department of both Houses, our priority is to further develop the two shortlisted options, continue to deliver an extensive programme of building surveys within the Palace of Westminster, and plan for the temporary accommodation that may be needed for the House of Lords within the Queen Elizabeth II Centre. We are also planning for major procurements, progressing consents work and readying our organisation by developing our operating model.

The Delivery Authority Board comprises a Non-Executive Chair plus six non-executive directors (up to two of whom are appointed by the House of Commons and House of Lords Corporate Officers) and three executive directors, including the Chief Executive. The post is remunerated with an expected time commitment of on average one to two days per month.

Successful candidates will be required to complete security vetting to a minimum Security Check (SC) level obtained through the Parliamentary Security Department (PSD). Candidates are required to pass these checks before a start date can be confirmed. Applicants should also be aware that, depending on the role applied for, if they have resided outside of the UK for a total of more than two of the last five years, they may not be eligible for vetting.

The Palace of Westminster, one of the best recognised buildings in the world, needs essential restoration to preserve it for future generations. The Palace has a rich and remarkable history. Westminster Hall is over 900 years old and has been the scene of great moments in our country’s political life. As well as being one of the UK's biggest buildings, it's one of the nation's busiest workplaces with thousands of people on site each day, from catering and security staff to MPs and Peers to experts keeping this iconic building running.

The Restoration and Renewal Programme is carrying out the tens of thousands of hours of complex building surveys and investigations needed to inform future decisions on the restoration work needed. We’ve already engaged teams of architects, engineers, project managers and contractors who will shape the future direction of the work. Restoring Parliament is already boosting UK industries, and the restoration will use UK materials wherever possible and create jobs and apprenticeships across the country, from engineering and high-tech design to traditional crafts such as carpentry and stonemasonry.
