Alto Software Group is a B2B SaaS company that powers more than half of all UK housing transactions each year. We create software solutions that connect businesses and consumers, delivering a one-stop shop for estate agents and home builders. Our goal is to drive efficiency, speed up transactions, reduce risk, and improve the end-customer experience. While we're not a start-up, we have a start-up mindset and want our people to operate with this mindset so that we can achieve our ambitions.

We are looking for a Head of Analytics to lead and develop our analytics function at a pivotal moment in its growth. Our Analytics team has matured significantly over the past year — the foundations are solid, the team is talented, and now we need a leader who can take them all the way. This is a player/manager role with real scope: you will drive the analytical agenda at senior leadership level while staying close enough to the work to get things over the line when it counts.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and performance-manage a team of analysts — helping them grow their technical and communication skills and creating an environment where they do their best work.
  • Set and communicate team priorities across Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Product, exercising clear judgement on urgency and importance when competing demands arise.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior stakeholders, translating business context into analytical direction and making sure the team's output is always tied to what matters.
  • Own complex, high-visibility projects that require coordination across the business and SLT exposure — driving them from ambiguous question to clear recommendation.
  • Step in at the detail level when it counts: taking analysis from 90% to 100% by working directly in SQL, Databricks, and ThoughtSpot alongside the team.
  • Champion the use of AI in analytics workflows — identifying where it adds genuine value and helping the team build fluency with emerging use cases.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior and executive audiences with clarity and confidence, adapting your style to the room.

Who You Are

  • A dual-altitude operator. You can zoom out to shape strategy with the SLT and zoom back in to write the query that unlocks the answer. You know when to do each, and you're comfortable switching between them in the same day.
  • A developer of people. You care about the growth of the people around you. You invest time in mentoring, create structures for development, and take performance management seriously — both the encouragement and the difficult conversations.
  • Technically credible. You have strong hands-on SQL skills and experience with BI tooling. You can describe a data transformation clearly enough that an engineer trusts your thinking, and a stakeholder understands the answer.
  • A sharp communicator. You ask the right questions, build trust with people quickly, and can explain complex analytical concepts to a non-technical audience without losing the insight. You know that the best analysis is useless if it doesn't land.
  • Commercially astute. You understand how Sales and Operations teams actually work — what keeps them up at night, how they make decisions, and what they need from analytics to act with confidence.
  • AI-curious and forward-thinking. You have experience applying AI to analytics problems and can bring a credible point of view on where it creates real leverage for a team like ours.

There's always room to grow and learn with our roles — please don't be put off if you don't have all of these. It's more important that you're passionate about improving the home moving and owning experience for everyone.

Tools & Environment

You will work primarily in SQL via Databricks, ThoughtSpot as our BI platform, and Salesforce for CRM data. Experience with these tools is a strong advantage; competence across SQL and BI visualisation is essential.

Why Join Alto?

This role offers genuine influence — you will be a member of the Software Operating Leadership team with a direct line to how strategy is set and executed. You will inherit a team that has already done the hard yards building strong foundations, giving you the chance to focus on what's next rather than what's broken. It's a rare combination of analytical depth, people leadership, and commercial impact at a company that is shaping how the UK housing market works.

Benefits

  • 25 days annual leave + extra days for years of service
  • Day off for volunteering & Digital detox day
  • Festive Closure - business closed for period between Christmas and New Year
  • Cycle to work and electric car schemes
  • Free Calm App membership
  • Enhanced Parental leave
  • Fertility Treatment Financial Support
  • Group Income Protection and private medical insurance
  • Gym on-site in London
  • 7.5% pension contribution by the company
  • Talent referral bonus up to £5K
