This role combines real-world engineering delivery with training and formal certification support, fast-tracking your development into a high-impact, well-rounded data engineer.
Data Engineering Delivery
- Build, maintain, and operate data pipelines that power Hometrack’s core products.
- Contribute to the ingestion, transformation, and validation of large, complex datasets.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance in production environments, meeting defined SLAs.
Collaboration & Engineering Practice
- Work closely with senior Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and Product partners to deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and team ceremonies, learning best practices in modern data engineering.
- Communicate clearly and effectively within a cross-functional engineering environment.
Platform & Tooling Exposure
- Gain hands-on experience with best-in-class data platforms and tooling, including Databricks, cloud services (Azure and AWS), and modern data engineering practices.
- Learn how data pipelines are built, tested, deployed, and monitored using CI/CD and automation.
Operational Support
- Take ownership of well-defined business-as-usual (BAU) tasks as confidence grows, helping to reduce operational load on senior engineers.
- Assist with the investigation and resolution of data issues, developing strong analytical and debugging skills.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute ideas to improve data quality, scalability, reliability, and developer experience.
- Develop a strong understanding of the property data landscape and how data drives customer and business outcomes.
Essential Skills & Experience
- A strong academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to ambiguous problems.
- Basic programming experience (e.g. Python, SQL, or similar), gained through university coursework, projects, or internships.
- A clear interest in data engineering and building production-grade data systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A proactive, coachable attitude and genuine enthusiasm for learning.
