Hands-on Studio and Staff Manager – London and Manchester
Location: London Nine Elms, with occasional travel to Manchester
Hours: 5 days a week, in or online Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
About House Pottery
House Pottery started in 2025 and teaches pottery classes. We have a studio in London and Manchester, with a third opening soon and more on the way.
The role
A hands‑on role covering three areas: supporting staff and scheduling, dealing with customer escalations, and studio management. Much of the job is on site, not behind a desk. No ceramic or art background is required.
What you'll do
Staff support and scheduling
- Hiring and training
- Employee happiness
- Handling unruly customers
- Dealing with negative reviews
- Acting as the liaison between the remote customer service team and the in‑person studio team
- Ensuring standards are met, including cleanliness
- Monitoring stock levels
- Health and safety checks
Travel
You'll need to be happy to travel to Manchester at least once a month, with an overnight stay, to monitor and train staff and inspect the studio.
