We are looking for a Specialist Heritage Cleaning Team Leader to join our Department of Facilities and Estates at the House of Lords. This is a full-time role that requires the post-holder to be on site between 7am-3pm, Monday to Friday. This is an exciting position where you will participate with heritage cleaning duties during projects, ensuring the preservation of a UNESCO world heritage site and Parliamentary Heritage Collections. You will manage a team of Heritage Cleaning Specialists, providing advice on the appropriate materials and equipment to be used on historic items, building skills and capabilities across the time and prioritising and managing their daily workload and essential activities. You will work closely with Parliamentary Architects and Collections teams to ensure heritage maintenance and cleaning programmes are in place and there is a clear reporting line for any risk or damage to the collections and fabric of the building. We are looking for a candidate with the skills, abilities, experience and collaborative approach to build on the excellent work already undertaken and further develop the team for the future. Through effective planning and organisational skills implement changes to the Heritage Cleaning Specialist Team structure to include the Heritage Collections Teams, maintaining careful oversight of the transition process. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about conservation and with previous experience and sound knowledge of collections care, with the ability to manage, develop and guide a specialist team. You will enjoy working with a range of stakeholders and possess the knowledge and skills to resolve problems and approach challenges with initiative. Youll be accountable for Managing and developing the heritage maintenance and cleaning programmes, working with Parliamentary Architects and Collections teams calling on Postholders specialist cleaning knowledge and organisational management skills. Supporting pest monitoring and reporting in collaboration with the Heritage Collections Team. Raising awareness of the heritage team achievements in collaboration with other teams, through parliamentary websites, internal magazines, heritage collection teams engagement, external heritage specialists and other key stakeholders in parliament including visitors. Facilitating training for your team to assist with salvage operations and have a clear understanding of their supporting role. Working with Facilities Management team to advise them on specialist heritage cleaning projects that affect the House of Lords, providing professional operational knowledge and liaising with them to plan and deliver cleaning projects to agreed standards and within set time limits during recess periods.
