Are you looking to broaden your experience within the Parliamentary Maintenance Services Team (PMST) while contributing to the upkeep and presentation of the Parliamentary Estate? As a Technical Officer within the Furnishings Team, you will support furniture repairs, replacement and improvement projects, contractor coordination and ceremonial event preparation across the estate. Working as part of a small and collaborative team, you will manage work requests through CAFM systems, support procurement activity and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders to help ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently.

The role offers a varied workload, including involvement in high-profile events such as State Opening of Parliament, Head of State visits and Remembrance Day.

  • Interior, Furniture or Heritage background supported by an NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within maintenance and construction environments
  • Experience using IT systems and software packages including Word, Excel, IWMS systems, CAD and finance systems
  • Knowledge and experience of furniture design or commissioning
  • Understanding of space planning within modern or historic buildings
