Job Description

To support the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure. The role involves ensuring the efficient, reliable, and secure collection, storage, and processing of data, which is critical for enabling data-driven decision-making within FGFS. To work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement data solutions, optimise data pipelines, and contribute to the overall data strategy, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility across FGFS.

  • Data Pipeline Development: Engage in the design, build, and maintenance of scalable and efficient data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading data from multiple sources.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve data-related issues within the platform, providing support and maintenance to data systems and wider teams.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the data team, spoke analysts, and other key stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver strategic and operational solutions that meet business needs.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with data governance policies, regulatory requirements, and data security best practices.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data engineering processes and provide regular updates and reports on system performance and data integrity.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering, proposing, and implementing improvements to existing processes and systems.

Qualifications

Knowledge of enterprise data warehousing, data integration and Business Intelligence (BI) reporting.
Experience with cloud-based data warehouse solutions, e.g. Snowflake and optimisations.
Significant SQL experience.
Experience and knowledge of transformation tool DBT.
Understanding of Role Based Access Controls and Data Governance concepts.
Working knowledge of Python.
Experience with modelling data for Microsoft PowerBI.
Knowledge of best practice for data modelling and architecture.
Good stakeholder management skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
Excellent critical thinking and solution creation skills .
Ability to deliver in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Ability to engage, challenge and influence others to achieve productive solutions.
Self-motivated with keen attention to detail
Experience of analysing data requirements and business processes.
