Our client is a UK leading private label supplier of bed and bath textiles to major UK and European retailers such as Tesco, Asda, M&S, John Lewis, Next, Dunelm & equivalent European retailers. This role leads the full marketing function for the UK and Europe business, serving as the primary marketing partner to key retail accounts — with Tesco as a flagship relationship — while driving brand and category strategy, new product launches, and customer-facing commercial initiatives.
The Head of Marketing will work closely with sales, product, and design teams to build retailer-aligned marketing propositions, support range development with consumer insight, and position the business in the UK as the category partner of choice across the region.
Key ResponsibilitiesReporting To: Chief Marketing & Merchandising Officer
- Retail & Customer Marketing
- Own the marketing relationship with Tesco and other key retail accounts — leading joint business planning, category reviews, and promotional strategy.
- Develop tailored marketing programmes for private label ranges across each retail partner, including in-store, digital, and seasonal campaigns.
- Act as the strategic marketing interface between the business in the UK and retailer buying, merchandising, and marketing teams.
- Support new range launches with go-to-market planning, POS, packaging strategy, and on-shelf execution.
- Lead consumer research and market analysis to inform product, range, and pricing strategy.
- Own category management outputs: market share data, trends, competitor benchmarking, and shopper behaviour insights.
- Build compelling sell-in presentations and category narratives for retail partners across the UK and Europe.
- Define and execute the marketing strategy for UK's private label portfolio across bed and bath.
- Collaborate with product and design teams on concept-to-shelf development, ensuring commercial and consumer alignment.
- Manage packaging, labelling, and brand guidelines across retailer ranges.
- Develop marketing frameworks and collateral to support European retail partnerships and new market entry.
- Adapt UK marketing strategies for European retailer contexts, working with local sales leads.
- Build relationships with European buying teams and co-develop localised marketing plans.
- Lead and develop the UK & Europe marketing team, building capability in customer marketing, insight, and content.
- Manage the marketing budget with clear ROI accountability across campaigns and accounts.
- Partner with the commercial, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless execution.
- 10+ years in marketing, with significant experience in FMCG, home textiles, retail, or consumer goods.
- Proven track record of managing marketing programmes with major UK grocery or general merchandise retailers (Tesco, Asda, M&S, John Lewis, etc.).
- Strong understanding of private label / own-brand dynamics in a B2B2C model.
- Experience in category management, shopper marketing, or trade marketing.
- Commercially astute — able to link marketing investment to sales outcomes and retailer KPIs.
- Excellent stakeholder management, with confidence presenting to senior retail and internal leadership.
Candidates must be based in the UK and able to travel to head offices occasionally in the North West.
