With a strong reputation for design innovation, speed to market, and product excellence, they are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Ladieswear Multi-Product Designer with a particular strength in jerseywear, fabric development, and print design. The Role
As a Senior Ladieswear Multi-Product Designer, you will play a key role in driving creative direction across a diverse range of accounts, designing commercially successful collections that align with customer requirements, market trends, and brand handwriting. You will be responsible for developing innovative jerseywear collections alongside selected multi-product categories, working closely with customers, factories, and internal teams from concept through to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Product Development
- Research and identify emerging fashion, colour, fabric, and print trends relevant to key customer accounts.
- Create commercially focused seasonal collections across jerseywear and selected multi-product trend-led ranges tailored to individual customer requirements, brand identities, and target markets.
- Produce detailed CADs, technical packs, garment specifications, and design exclusive print, graphic, and embellishment concepts for customer ranges.
- Interpret catwalk, street style, social media, and competitor trends into wearable commercial products.
- Present design concepts confidently to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Fabric & Print Development
- Work closely with mills and overseas factories to develop innovative jersey fabrics and finishes.
- Source and develop new fabrications, washes, textures, and surface print development, including placement prints, all-over prints, graphics, and trend-led artwork.
- Maintain a strong understanding of fabric performance, quality standards, and garment fit requirements.
- Identify opportunities for sustainable fabrics and responsible sourcing initiatives.
- Customer Engagement
- Build strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Attend customer meetings and presentations, providing creative input and product direction.
- Respond quickly to design briefs and customer requests.
- Develop account-specific collections for high street and online retailers.
- Monitor customer performance and adapt product strategies accordingly.
- Supplier & Factory Collaboration
- Liaise daily with overseas factories and sourcing teams.
- Communicate design developments clearly throughout the sampling process.
- Review and approve samples, lab dips, prints, and fabric developments.
- Support factories in achieving the desired aesthetic, quality, and fit standards.
- Travel occasionally for factory visits, sourcing trips, and customer meetings where required.
- Trend & Market Analysis
- Conduct regular competitor shopping and market research.
- Analyse best sellers and identify future product opportunities.
- Monitor online retailers, social platforms, influencers, and emerging trends.
- Create inspirational mood boards and seasonal trend presentations.
- Team Contribution
- Support and mentor junior members of the design team.
- Share trend insights and product knowledge across departments.
- Collaborate effectively with sales, merchandising, technical, and sourcing teams.
- Contribute positively to a creative, energetic, and commercially driven design culture.
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 5+ years' experience within a fashion supplier or retailer environment.
- Proven experience designing ladieswear jerseywear collections.
- Strong multi-product design background.
- Experience working with UK high street retailers and online fashion brands.
- Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of customer requirements.
- Strong fabric knowledge, particularly within jersey and casualwear developing prints, graphics, and surface understanding of garment construction and fit.
- Ability to work at pace within a fast-moving supplier environment.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident presenting to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with customers such as ASOS, Urban Outfitters, Next, River Island, New Look, Primark, or similar fashion retailers.
- Experience travelling to factories and sourcing markets.
- Knowledge of sustainable materials and ethical sourcing practices.
- Experience mentoring junior designers.
