The Role
Our client is a results-driven, client-first agency based in Manchester. The agency has delivered over 3.6 billion impressions across 15 countries, growing entirely through recommendation. They specialise in innovative, data-led strategies across digital, e-commerce, OOH, and social media, with a relentless focus on delivering measurable impact for their D2C clients. As Head of Digital, you will be responsible for the performance of key paid channels, ensuring campaigns are set up to deliver consistent, profitable growth. Working directly with D2C e-commerce clients, this is a hands-on position where you’ll combine strategic oversight with day-to-day optimisation, working closely with internal teams to align digital activity with commercial priorities.
This is a senior leadership position with full ownership of the Digital function. Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Digital will shape and lead strategy across all digital disciplines — driving commercial performance, building team capability, and acting as a senior presence in client relationships and new business.
The right person will be a confident leader who brings both strategic thinking and hands-on knowledge of the digital landscape, with the ability to inspire a team while maintaining strong commercial control.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Leadership
- Define and lead the overall Digital strategy, aligned to business objectives and client outcomes
- Own the structure, culture, and performance of the Digital team
- Act as a senior voice in the business on all things digital - driving innovation, raising standards, and championing best practice
- Client & Commercial
- Translate client objectives into clear, scalable digital strategies
- Build and maintain trusted relationships at senior client level
- Manage forecasting, utilisation, and profitability across the function
- Support the business in new business pitches and growth opportunities
- Team Development
- Lead, develop and retain a team of digital specialists
- Create clear career paths and foster a high-performance culture
- Work collaboratively with other senior leaders and specialist functions (including SEO, e-commerce, and creative)
- Delivery & Performance
- Oversee delivery across all digital channels, ensuring quality and consistency
- Hands on with 2 largest digital D2C clients end to end (including strategy, build and performance)
- Embed best practice across planning, activation and reporting
- Drive continuous improvement across tools, processes and outputs
