ASSISTANT IMPORT MERCHANDISER – FASHION

Our client are one of the UK’s largest fashion accessories suppliers to the high street retailers. They design and source for some of the biggest high street names plus their own branded products that are stocked in over 1500 independent stores across the World. They are now looking to recruit a motivated Assistant Import Merchandiser to join their import merchandising team on a full time permanent basis. The person will be responsible for assisting the senior merchandisers with a selection of retail high street and global online fashion accounts.  

Duties:

Liaise with various Far East factories chasing design & seal samples and maintaining sample trackers.

Ordering labels and maintaining the label stock sheets

Place raw material orders for fabrics and components

Chase deliveries of materials and components and update the factories, whilst ensuring CP dates are maintained

Chase the customer to ensure we have size breakdowns and barcode details to ensure CP dates are maintained

Check and measure fabrics and samples upon receipt

Create master pre-production internal fit workbooks.

Record and log the test reports

Ensure weekly production plans are received from the factories

Ensure the weekly production plans are updated and sent to the customer

Arrange freight import quotes and monitor progress

Arrange customer warehouse bookings for delivery

Provide shipment paperwork and AQL’s from factory prior to ex-factory dates to customer

Assisting senior and head of Merchandising in all tasks 

The successful applicant will need to be enthusiastic, organised and be able to work at a fast pace. You must be able to work well in a team but also have good initiative to work alone; be able to manage tasks effectively and have good attention to detail.  

Role requirements

Minimum of 1 years import merchandising experience for a fashion supplier

Critical path

Working with overseas suppliers and high street and online retailers

Good organisational skills, able to prioritise

25 days holiday (increasing to 30 based on length of service)

Monday – Thursday 8.00am-4.30pm

Friday – 8.00am – 1.00pm
