Central Manchester - full time head office based role up to £28k. Our client is one of the fastest growing fashion brands in the UK and is looking to expand their Merchandising team. They are looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Fashion Merchandiser with at least 1+ years experience working for a D2C fashion brand in analysing weekly trade performance, planning, forecasting and WSSI, range and product strategy, stock management and excellent Excel skills.
Job role
Reporting to the Merchandiser:
- To own and actively manage stock performance across assigned categories, contributing to trading decisions, stock efficiency, and delivery of sales and margin targets across retail and digital channels.
Key Responsibilities
Trading & Performance
- Monitor daily and weekly sales performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Lead or co-lead weekly trade reviews, presenting category performance and key actions.
- Provide clear, data-led recommendations on trading actions (e.g. markdowns, rebuys, stock movement).
- Support delivery of sales and margin targets through effective trading decisions.
Stock Management
- Own and actively trade the stock file, including allocations, replenishment, and optimisation.
- Monitor stock health (availability, fragmentation, slow sellers, stock-outs).
- Analyse size and product performance to drive availability and reduce risk.
- Grade stock using A/B/C classification based on rate of sale and seasonal relevance.
- Recommend and execute stock actions to improve sell-through.
Planning & Forecasting
- Own and maintain WSSI (Weekly Sales, Stock & Intake) for assigned areas.
- Contribute to forecasting and reforecasting decisions based on current performance.
- Analyse historical and current data to support range and stock planning.
Stock File Ownership
- Own and actively manage stock performance across web and retail channels.
- Ensure stock is optimised for key trading periods and seasonal peaks.
- Partner with ecommerce and retail teams to maximise product visibility and sell-through.
- Support delivery of revenue and margin targets through effective stock management.
Supplier & Intake Management
- Manage purchase orders and track intake delivery.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely stock flow.
- Support intake planning in line with trading requirements.
Commercial Contribution
- Support buy planning and trading strategies to deliver financial targets.
- Contribute to promotional and markdown planning.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance and mitigate risk.
Systems & Reporting
- Take ownership of merchandising systems and tools to support trading decisions.
- Maintain accurate and timely reporting.
- Produce clear and insightful trade reports and presentations.
Skills & Experience
- Experience working as a Merchandiser Admin Assistant in D2C fashion brand.
- Strong numerical and analytical capability.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, scenario analysis).
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with ability to present insights.
- Ability to take ownership and proactively manage workload.
