The core purpose of your job role: The Senior Account Manager (SEO) is a pivotal role within the SEO team, responsible for the strategic planning, delivery, and performance of organic search campaigns for a portfolio of mid-to-large clients. They will act as a senior consultant and client partner, ensuring delivery excellence while guiding clients through complex SEO challenges to deliver measurable results that contribute to broader business goals.

- Account management (50%)
- Own the end-to-end management of SEO campaigns for client accounts, ensuring campaign goals, KPIs and deliverables are met.
- Develop robust SEO strategies based on research, data insights, competitive analysis, and the latest best practices.
- Continuously innovate and incorporate creativity into account strategies and activity.
- Lead execution across audits, keyword research, site structure optimisation, content strategy, technical SEO, and performance monitoring.
- Regularly audit accounts to identify underperformance or new opportunities and adjust strategy accordingly.
- Produce monthly, quarterly and ad hoc performance reports using tools such as Google Looker Studio, GA4, and Ahrefs.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks to ensure smooth delivery and long-term campaign success.
- Build deep, long-lasting partnerships with clients based on trust, value delivery, and shared growth goals.
- Act as the senior SEO contact for each account, supporting senior level stakeholders.
- Translate complex SEO concepts into clear, actionable insights and strategies for non-technical audiences.
- Deliver formal presentations, quarterly business reviews and strategic updates.
- Actively manage scope, timelines, and client expectations, escalating issues when necessary.
- Gauge and report on client satisfaction and escalate any potential client issues ahead of time.
- Spot growth opportunities within existing accounts and lead strategic recommendations for expansion.
- Contribute SEO insight, forecasting and competitive research to new business pitches.
- Participate in pitch meetings and help convert opportunities into active client relationships.
- Help shape SEO product offerings and service development.
- Line manage and mentor Account Manager(s) and/or Account Executive(s), providing regular feedback, guidance and development opportunities.
- Oversee workload allocation and task prioritisation within the team.
- Have regular 1-to-1 meetings with direct reports to encourage positive engagement.
- Ensure that training and development plans are in place for all members of the team.
- Identify and address performance issues within the team.
- Raise your internal profile through pro-active knowledge and experience sharing.
- Promote a positive, inclusive and collaborative team culture.
