Director of Faculty โ Science & Maths

We are delighted to be working with an Ofsted rated โOutstandingโ school based in West London who are seeking to appoint a Director of Faculty, leading Science & Maths across the school. This role involves strategic leadership for a the departments, encompassing curriculum development, staff management, and operational oversight. Key responsibilities include setting strategic vision, leading staff, managing budgets and resources, and ensuring high-quality teaching and student outcomes. The specific duties vary between academic and administrative roles, but all require leadership in implementing institutional goals and policies.
Key responsibilities
- Strategic leadership:
- Develop and implement the faculty\'s strategic vision and objectives.
- Contribute to the development of school-wide policies and strategic plans.
- Staff management:
- Lead, develop, and support faculty staff.
- Play an important part in staff recruitment, induction, and performance management.
- Determine roles and responsibilities within the faculty.
- Curriculum and quality assurance:
- Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement within the faculty.
- Lead the development of curriculum and teaching strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the faculty.
- Operational and financial management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and resources of the faculty.
- Manage budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation to ensure value for money.
- Compliance and safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Manage health and safety responsibilities, including risk assessments.
- Collaboration and communication:
- Build internal and external networks to support the faculty and the institution.
- Promote effective communication both within the faculty and with other departments.
- Work with other leaders on school-wide initiatives and projects.
