We are expanding, building, and optimizing content sites that deliver top-tier advice, reviews, and experiences.
To maintain our high expertise, experience, authority, and trustworthiness standards, we need a talented and enthusiastic editor to prepare new content for each site punctually and consistently.
You'll be the first set of eyes on the content before publication, ensuring no bottlenecks or backlogs.
Meticulous attention to detail and a solid understanding of workflows, SEO, and affiliate content creation are essential.
About The Role
As an editor, you will own and support various tasks including, but not limited to, editing, fact-checking, running final grammar and structure checks, adding/editing content to meet SEO best practices, communicating with writers, and ensuring a consistent tone in our posts.
You will be editing content from at least three unique sites, with the potential for up to five, meaning you need to understand the needs of various platforms.
Ideally, you have worked in content production spaces before, are comfortable with SEO best practices, and know how to edit content to meet high standards.
A passion for content workflows, increasing publishing capacity, and efficiency is a plus.
You'll be part of a fast-paced, small-but-mighty team with ambitious goals.
You'll report directly to our Operations Manager and work closely with our publishing editorial team to meet objectives.
- What You'll Be Responsible For
- Finalizing and editing content daily, including adding or rearranging submitted content to meet high standards.
- Acting as the first point of contact for writers, communicating successes, missed sections, monthly word count totals, and monthly capacities to ensure smooth content flow.
- Learning what success looks like for this role and understanding the level of editing each piece requires.
- Communicating via Slack, Asana, and weekly direct-report meetings.
- Contributing to and editing multiple content assets, from short informational pieces to long-form buying guides, ensuring they meet audience needs, align with growth strategy, and are optimized for maximum ranking results.
- Overseeing tone and voice across all deliverables to meet individual site goals.
- Finalizing content for publication, working towards independence and self-reporting, and ensuring each piece is factual, SEO-optimized, valuable, engaging, and entertaining.
- Acting as an editorial leader, helping others become better writers through guidance, education, and self-serve tools.
