Responsibilities
- Develop deep knowledge of the securitized and structured credit markets and become conversant in the broader aspects of the Houlihan Lokey business
- Apply this knowledge to build and maintain data sets, and refine our valuation algorithms
- Analyze client portfolios of structured credit securities
- Model complex, bespoke transactions using either Excel or our in-house modelling software
- Assist the core engineering team on software development projects
- Resolve client queries and assist with product demos
- Prepare for interviews: approximately 48 hours prior to your interview, you will receive a brief task requiring basic analysis in Excel. This task will involve working through a structured finance deal scenario. No prior financial expertise is required, and the task is designed to take about one hour to complete.
- Interview process overview: two remote interviews via Microsoft Teams with two product and engineering team members each; one discussion will focus on your approach and findings from the Excel task
- Round 2 – In-person meetings in our London office with additional team members, including logic-based discussions and conversations about your interests and motivations
- Travel expenses: we will cover reasonable travel costs for your visit to our office
- Round 3 – Final interview in the London office, with the possibility of a job offer if all goes well
- Each stage is designed to assess skills, fit with the team, and to provide insight into our work environment
Qualifications
- A degree in a numerate or hard science discipline from a top university
- A keen interest in working in the financial markets
- Self-motivated, flexible, and keen to work in a collegial environment
