Our team has deep senior-level relationships across the capital markets and a long track record of raising capital across varying market conditions. Scope

Houlihan Lokey Primary Capital Advisory (“PCA”) is an established but growing player in the private equity fund placement and advisory space. PCA has an experienced team of approximately 40 people across seven offices in the U.S. and Europe who have collectively worked on over 300 fundraises since 2010 across a wide array of private equity strategies. We are looking for an experienced Associate to join our team in London as we continue our growth journey.

Responsibilities

• Transaction Execution
  • Support the execution of primary fundraising mandates, taking a day-to-day lead on core project management workstreams.
  • Coordinate due diligence processes, including preparation of marketing materials (PPMs, DDQs, investor presentations).
  • Manage workstreams across investor outreach, pipeline tracking, and closing processes.
  • Assist senior team members in client dialogue and relationship management.
• Analytical & Marketing Support
  • Develop bespoke financial models for fund performance, portfolio analysis, and investor return scenarios as required for active and pipeline mandates.
  • Conduct market research, benchmarking, and investor mapping to support fundraising strategy.
  • Draft marketing materials and investor communications with precision and clarity.
• Team Leadership
  • Oversee Analysts in preparing materials and managing data rooms.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Business Development
  • Support senior professionals in origination efforts and marketing initiatives.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and maintain awareness of private market trends.

Basic Qualifications/ Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Education & Experience
  • Strong academic background (2:1 or equivalent degree minimum).
  • 4–5 years of experience in private capital advisory, placement agent, or related roles in investment banking or asset management.
• Technical Skills
  • Proven ability to execute fundraising processes and manage investor interactions.
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in private markets.
• Soft Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present confidently to senior stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple workstreams under pressure.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong work ethic and proactive approach.
• Industry Knowledge
  • Familiarity with private equity, private credit, and alternative investment strategies.
  • Understanding of LP dynamics and fundraising best practices.
