About the Role

Develop deep knowledge of the securitized and structured credit markets and become conversant in the broader aspects of the Houlihan Lokey business

Apply this knowledge to build and maintain data sets, and refine our valuation algorithms

Analyze client portfolios of structured credit securities

Model complex, bespoke transactions using either Excel or our in-house modelling software

Assist the core engineering team on software development projects

Resolve client queries and assist with product demos

Structured Products Group – Portfolio Valuations
The Structured Products Group (SPG) within Houlihan Lokey’s Financial and Valuations Advisory Practice (FVA), based in London and NY, focusses on providing valuation services relating to all forms of securitised and structured finance, from liquid public securities across asset classes such Asset Backed Securities (ABS), Collateralised Loan Obligations (CLO) and Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS) to complex bespoke repack deals, residual and capital relief exposures. Our clients comprise of some of the world’s largest banks, asset managers, hedge funds and insurance companies.
The SPG team in London is now looking to hire a Financial/Product Analyst to be based in our London Office.
The opening is for an ambitious graduate to join our growing product team. The successful applicant will gain a deep understanding of the structured credit markets and be exposed to the full range of technologies that are being developed at Houlihan Lokey. It is expected that they will swiftly become important team members, with key responsibilities.

Interview Process
After submitting your application, you will receive notification within two weeks if we are interested in proceeding to the interview stage. The interview process is outlined below, though please note that stages may vary depending on availability and specific circumstances:
Round 1

Preparation Task: Approximately 48 hours prior to your interview, you will receive a brief task requiring basic analysis in Excel. This task will involve working through a structured finance deal scenario. No prior financial expertise is required , and the task is designed to take about one hour to complete.

Interviews: You will participate in two separate interviews conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams. Each interview will be with two members from our product and engineering team. One of these discussions will focus on your approach and findings from the Excel task.
Round 2

In-Person Meetings: This stage involves visiting our London office to meet with additional team members. The session will include logic-based discussions as well as conversations about your interests and motivations.

Travel Expenses: We will cover reasonable travel costs for your visit to our office.
Round 3

Final Interview: If you progress to this final stage, we will invite you back to our London office for another meeting with the team, concluding with a job offer if all goes well.
