The European Capital Solutions team advises private equity, corporate and public clients on arranging financing in the public, and private capital markets through the issuance of debt, equity, or hybrid securities. The team, comprising over 70 professionals, is rapidly growing and advising clients on the origination, structuring, and execution of private and public debt financings across numerous industries.
Scope
The Debt Capital Solutions team at Houlihan Lokey is looking to add an Associate in its London office focused on debt and hybrid debt transactions across Europe.

Responsibilities
- Lead select deal workstreams and assist in the overall day to day of execution of financing advisory mandates (e.g. acquisition financing, refinancings, amend & extend)
- Leading preparation of confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations
- Assist in analysing and negotiating financing terms and documentation and formulate advice to clients
- Preparing, analysing and helping explain historical and projected financial models in support of executing ongoing engagements
- Assisting in originating new client engagements for the Capital Markets team spanning various jurisdictions, industries, and situations
- Assisting in relationship coverage of active debt investors, including banks, credit funds, hedge funds, and other alternative lenders
- Coordinating third-party work by various other professional advisors and perform business due diligence
- Mentor junior analysts

Basic Qualifications/Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong academic track record and achieved a 2:1 or equivalent degree
- 3-5 years of experience within Debt Advisory, Leveraged or Structured Finance, or other similar roles within an Investment Bank or Advisory firm
- A fundamental understanding of financial valuation methodologies, and applications
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical abilities; strong LBO and DCF modelling skills
- Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills
- Strong knowledge of Excel
- Understanding of financial statements analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential
- Strong work ethic, organizational skills and ability to multitask is crucial
- A motivated and demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing, demanding, but ultimately rewarding environment
- The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
