Roles and Responsibilities:
- Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils and support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.
- Monitor and support the overall progress and development of pupils as a teacher.
- Facilitate and encourage a learning experience that provides pupils with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
- Contribute to raising standards of pupil attainment.
- Support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal growth and enjoyment.
- Assist in the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies and teaching strategies in the Curriculum Area and Department.
- Contribute to the achievement of the school’s development plan and its implementation.
- Plan and prepare lessons.
- Contribute to the whole school’s planning activities.
- Promote safeguarding pupils’ welfare as paramount, acting in accordance with the responsibility ‘in loco parentis’.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK (or equivalent certification in other countries).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) or equivalent teaching qualification. Alternatively, a degree in a relevant subject plus a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
- Enhanced DBS check for safeguarding children.
- Evidence of participation in further professional development or study.
- Basic first aid training.
