Class 2 Vehicle Recovery Driver - Bolton in Horwich

Overview

Hough Green Garage is a market leader in the provision of 24‑hour Breakdown & Recovery Services, having been established for over 40 years. We operate 24/7, 365 days a year for Local Authorities, Blue Light Emergency Services, Motoring Organisations and private companies on a National basis.

Responsibilities

• Attend Breakdowns & Accidents on motorways and main roads throughout our operational area.
• Daily checks / walk arounds at the start of every shift.
• Weekly vehicle inventory checks.
• General housekeeping on our vehicles and depots/yards.
• Ensure safe removal / delivery of all customer vehicles.
• Complete job requirements on company issued PDA’s.
• Assist office staff with moving cars in/out of the yard when required.

Qualifications

• Full valid UK driving Licence.
• Proven experience and qualifications as a 7.5ton / Class 2 driver (vehicle recovery experience is a distinct advantage but not essential).
• A minimum of a Category C1 Driving Licence, along with DCPC and a Digital Drivers Card.
• Thrives under pressure and can be flexible with shifts.
• Excellent communication skills, being able to speak face‑to‑face with our customers, sometimes in stressful circumstances.
• Desire to assist our customers by going the extra mile and keen eye for detail.
• Clean past record, able to pass police vetting.
• Excellent geographical knowledge of the local area.
• Basic mechanical knowledge.
• The ability and motivation to work on your own initiative and resolve challenging situations.

The hourly rate for this role is up to £15.00ph (depending on shift and experience). Plus, callout & overtime. Alternative shifts may be considered, and this will be discussed at interview.
