The moment Consulting is being agentified. The $300B insights industry is about to be rebuilt by AI agents that don't just report what happened — they tell brands what to do next and execute it. Most firms are still figuring out how to use ChatGPT for email. We've already built the agents.
Hotspex has spent 25 years measuring what the world's biggest brands make people feel — over 1M interviews, 800+ brands, 33 countries, validated at P&G, Coca-Cola, Unilever, RBC, TELUS. Now we're weaponizing that dataset with AI. Every methodology we've built is becoming an autonomous agent. Every deliverable is becoming a living product. Every client interaction is becoming an intelligent system. This is the Agentification of Consulting — and we're riding the front of the wave.
We need a Full Stack Engineer in Toronto who wants to build what comes next.
What you’ll build
- Agent-powered brand intelligence platforms — autonomous systems that ingest research data, generate strategic recommendations, and deliver them directly to the world’s largest advertisers
- Top of Model™ — our proprietary platform measuring how brands rank inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity. We’re defining an entirely new category of brand measurement for the AI era
- BrandSpace — a self-serve SaaS platform putting 25 years of enterprise-grade emotional brand science into the hands of every marketer
- MCP server integrations and agentic tool chains — exposing our Human Motivation Framework as API-accessible AI tools that plug into Claude, Adobe, and enterprise martech stacks
- Client-facing interactive products — brand simulators, revenue growth models, and AI-powered proposal systems that win seven-figure engagements
Who you are
- You’re a builder, not a ticket-taker. You can go from a rough CEO brief on Monday to a shipped product by Friday.
- Full-stack fluency — React, Node, Python, modern deployment (Vercel/Netlify, Supabase, serverless). You own the whole surface from UI to infrastructure
- AI-native — you’ve built with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs, you understand tool use, embeddings, MCP, and agentic workflows. You don’t just prompt — you architect systems around LLMs
- Claude Code proficiency is essential — we build with it daily and we’ll want to see examples of what you’ve shipped with it
- Genuinely interested in marketing and brand strategy — you want to understand why a campaign moves a brand, not just render the dashboard. The best code at Hotspex is written by people who understand the business problem
- Product-minded — you think in user outcomes, not tickets. You push back on bad specs and propose better solutions
- High ownership, low ego — direct access to the CEO, the IP, and the clients means you’ll have outsized impact and outsized accountability
Why this role is rare
- Stock options — you’ll have equity upside in a company that’s been profitable for 25 years and is now scaling its AI product suite into a category-defining SaaS business
- Toronto-based, on-site — we believe the best products get built by people in the same room solving hard problems together. Being in Toronto is key — this is a hands-on, high-trust, high-speed environment
- Fortune 100 clients from day one — your code ships to RBC, global CPG, major broadcasters, and government. Not a pre-revenue pitch deck
- AI isn’t a feature — it’s the entire product thesis — every tool, methodology, and deliverable at Hotspex is being agentified. You’ll be at the centre of that transformation
- 25 years of proprietary IP — you’re not starting from zero. You’re building on top of the Human Motivation Framework — 177 personality attributes, 96 emotions, 8 motivational zones — a dataset most AI startups would kill for
- No four-layer product org — you’ll work directly with the CEO, strategists, and clients. Your decisions ship
Qualifications
- Proficient in front-end development: HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred)
- Skilled in back-end development: server-side languages, database management, API design
- Proven full-stack delivery — end-to-end ownership from architecture to deployment
- Strong experience with Claude Code — show us what you’ve built with it
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, DevOps tooling, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with agile workflows and Git-based version control
- Excellent problem-solving instincts with a bias toward performance and scalability
- Strong communication skills — you’ll present to clients, not just commit to repos
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred — but shipped work matters more than credentials
How to apply
Send a short note and your best work to — GitHub repos, shipped products, side projects, agent builds. If you’ve built something AI-powered that actually works in production, lead with that.
We’re 25 years old and moving faster than any startup. Come build the next chapter.
