The Housekeeping Assistant is responsible for supporting the cleanliness, presentation and housekeeping standards across the Hothorpe Estate, including bedrooms, lodges, event spaces, restaurants, bars, public areas and back-of-house spaces at Hothorpe Hall and The Woodlands. This is a hands-on role, working as part of the housekeeping team to ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard. You will take pride in your work, support your colleagues, and help deliver a consistently clean, welcoming and "event-ready" environment for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and service bedrooms, bathrooms, lodges and public areas to a high standard
  • Prepare rooms for arrivals, stay-overs and departures
  • Support event space setup and turnaround
  • Follow cleaning schedules, checklists and SOPs
  • Work closely with the housekeeping team and other departments
  • Report maintenance issues, damages or guest requests promptly
  • Handle linen, restock supplies and use products responsibly
  • Follow all health & safety procedures, including COSHH
  • Support environmentally responsible practices

Requirements

  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred (not essential)
  • Good attention to detail and a positive, team-focused attitude
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and busy periods

Working Pattern

  • Full-time or part-time hours available
  • Shift pattern will include weekends and bank holidays as required
