About the Role
The White Lion is a fantastic Pub attached to The Avon Gorge Hotel. It offers an outdoor terrace with stunning views of the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Avon Gorge, private gardens that can be booked for exclusive BBQs and events, and there’s a big screen TV with most sporting events shown and a fresh and delicious menu.
When the sun is shining, the terrace triples the number of guests that the White Lion can accommodate and turns the White Lion from a relaxing bar to one of the busiest watering holes in Bristol. This offers the management team a unique set of opportunities and challenges; managing guest expectations alongside operating costs and flexible rotas.
We are looking for a hands-on Pub Manager to take on the running of the White Lion. You will be bringing all the experience you have gained throughout your career and putting it to good use. This isn’t a role for the faint of heart; you will be leading from the front and will need to be organised, professional, and have a keen eye for detail.
You will be reporting into the General Manager of The Avon Gorge Hotel and working alongside the operations team on a daily basis. You will be responsible for delivering weekly sales targets and controlling payroll and stock.
We’re looking for someone who has proven experience as a Pub Manager or Bar Manager in an establishment that has a focus on high-quality food and service. You’ll also be an experienced people leader, able to motivate, engage, and get the best out of your team whilst ensuring their development needs are met.
