Salary: up to £50k dependant on experience

Reports to: Regional Controller UK

The finance team of Hotel Co 51 UK is in charge of the finance, controlling and reporting of all the 17 properties in UK. They support the daily operation of the hotels, assist in the opening phase for new development and conduct training to employees where required.

In the position of Financial Controller UK, looking after multiple properties, you will assume responsibility for:

  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts for all properties – on time, complete, and compliant with USALI standards
  • Direct the month-end close process across each hotel, ensuring consistency of accounting practices
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and audit requirements (internal + external)
  • Oversee internal controls across all hotels, ensuring consistent application of policies
  • Regularly review purchasing, inventory, cash handling, and credit procedures
  • Lead internal audits and ensure timely closure of any action points
  • Lead finance team and provide coaching, succession planning, and capability development
  • Foster a culture of accuracy, integrity, and commercial focus
  • Communication with external parties (suppliers, foreign partners and customers) about payments and invoice correctness
  • Monitoring and assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Reconciliation of ledgers and related subledgers
  • Processing payments and cash reconciliation
  • Performing archiving work
  • Perform intercompany reconciliation
  • Reconciliation of employee expenses and payments
  • Establish and build a close working relationship with Hotel Operations
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as designated by the Regional Financial Controller or Management as required to benefit the financial performance of the company
  • Develop understanding of various systems and applications used within the company
  • Travel to hotels in the portfolio may be required, however, this would be limited as required

Do you have what it takes?

  • Must have multi property hotel finance experience with full month end close process
  • Fluent in English – written and spoken
  • Organize own activities and work independently with a remote reporting manager
  • Has a critical attitude and independent mind, “looking for the issues”
  • Has an advanced knowledge of Office package
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or equivalent completed certification is desirable
  • Is willing to work in a non-standardized environment
  • Has experience in Opera and Micros
  • Experience with ERP accounting software experience in SunSystems by Infor would be a plus
