As we continue our mission to make people and nature happy through chocolate, we're looking for an SEO Executive to join our Ecommerce team on a full-time, permanent basis.
About the Role
Organic search plays an important role in how customers discover Hotel Chocolat online. As our SEO Executive, you'll support the delivery of our SEO strategy, helping to drive sustainable organic growth while protecting and elevating our premium brand presence. Working closely with our Ecommerce team, Development partners and SEO agency, you'll help optimise our digital experience across content, technical SEO and on-page improvements. Responsibilities
- Deliver day-to-day SEO activity across the website in line with our Ecommerce strategy.
- Work closely with our SEO agency to implement recommendations across on-page, technical and content SEO.
- Support keyword research, competitor analysis and monitoring of search trends.
- Identify opportunities to improve organic visibility across compliant and non-HFSS content areas.
Content and on-page optimisation
- Support optimisation of category, product and content pages in line with SEO best practice and brand guidelines.
- Ensure SEO requirements are considered in new content creation and page updates.
- Assist with the creation of content briefs and on-page recommendations, including metadata, headings and internal linking.
Technical SEO support
- Help carry out regular site checks and basic technical audits such as identifying broken links, redirects and indexation issues.
- Work with Development teams to support the implementation and testing of technical SEO recommendations.
HFSS compliance and opportunity
- Support SEO activity in line with HFSS regulations to ensure a compliant approach to organic growth.
- Work with our SEO agency and internal stakeholders to prioritise non-HFSS and brand-led content opportunities.
- Develop an understanding of regulatory considerations within organic search.
Reporting and insight
- Assist with weekly and monthly SEO performance reporting.
- Track keyword rankings, organic traffic and search visibility using analytics and SEO tools.
- Use insights and data to help build recommendations and continuously improve our SEO approach.
Qualifications
- Good understanding of SEO principles including on-page, content and technical foundations.
- Experience using tools such as Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console or SEO platforms.
- Comfortable working with data and learning new tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Experience working with agencies or external partners.
- Confident communicating with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness and interest in how SEO supports business performance.
- A proactive mindset and enthusiasm to develop your SEO expertise.

Pay range and compensation package
As well as a competitive salary and a range of company benefits, you'll receive 50% discount on all products, and a 70% discount for you and your guests when you stay at our Rabot Estate hideaway on the paradise island of Saint Lucia.

The on-site location for this role is our support office, 'Mint House', in Royston, Hertfordshire. Our home from the very beginning, it's just off the A505 and 10 minutes' walk from Royston train station, with direct rail links to London King's Cross.
