As we continue our mission to make people and nature happy through chocolate, we’re looking for an Ecommerce Executive to join our eCommerce team on a hybrid, full-time basis. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day online experience across our website and app, driving revenue, optimising user journeys, and delivering campaign initiatives that support business growth. Working with teams across marketing, content, and operations, you’ll make sure our online channels perform at their very best while delivering a seamless, engaging customer experience.

Here at Hotel Chocolat, we’ve adopted hybrid working. This means you’ll join us on site for three days a week, and for the other two days – you can work from wherever you like! The on-site location for this role is our support office, ‘Mint House’, in Royston, Hertfordshire. Our home from the very beginning, it’s just off the A505 and 10 minutes’ walk from Royston train station, with direct rail links to London King’s Cross.
What you’ll be doing…
- Managing the Ecommerce activity calendar, including product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.
- Partnering with the Ecommerce Trading Manager to deliver ‘best in class’ online gifting journeys.
- Using tools such as Google Analytics and Content Square to analyse performance and identify opportunities.
- Working with SEO, CRO, and UX teams to optimise site journeys.
- Overseeing product uploads, merchandising, and categorisation for accuracy and impact.
- Collaborating with Marketing and CRM teams to deliver seamless campaigns.
- Producing weekly and ad-hoc reports with actionable recommendations.
- Monitoring stock levels and ensuring product availability with merchandising/trading teams.
- Leading site walks with the Ecommerce Assistant to test journeys and resolve issues.
- Keeping ahead of industry and competitor trends, sharing recommendations for Hotel Chocolat.
- Deputising for the Ecommerce Trading Manager when required.

- Previous experience in an Ecommerce retail environment.
- Comfortable using Ecommerce platforms and searchandising systems (e.g. Algolia).
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with reporting tools such as Content Square.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working closely with SEO, CRO, and UX teams.
- Knowledge of online customer gifting journeys.
