As we continue our mission to make people and nature happy through reinventing chocolate, we’re looking for a Packing Development Coordinator to join our New Product Introduction Team on a permanent basis. As Packing Development Coordinator, you will play a key role in bringing new products to life and ensuring every first production run is delivered right first time.

Working closely with the Product Development teams, you will conduct transit testing, create detailed packing specifications and support in producing Gold Seal samples to guarantee quality, consistency and customer satisfaction from launch onwards. The on-site location for this role is predominantly at our Distribution Centre ‘Alpha’, in St. Neots, Cambridgeshire. There will also be occasional travel as required to our Factory ‘Hadley Park’ in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire so flexibility will be required.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Establish the packaging requirements for all products (HC/ Global/ Wholesale/ 3rd party).
  • Add relevant information on to Apollo product database (Routings & Volumetrics) for new products.
  • Generate the packing specifications for all products (HC/ Global/ Wholesale/ 3rd Party) with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proactively work with the Material Control Team to ensure gold seal timings can be achieved by ensuring all relevant items are available at the right time.
  • Create gold seal samples for Production Team’s reference.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure packing specs and gold seals are signed off before 1st production runs.
  • Conduct product transit tests that cover online, wholesale and retail distribution.
  • Generate detailed transit test reports post testing.
  • Establish opportunities to improve systems, processes and margins.
  • Ensure relevant tasks are completed in line with the critical path of development projects and drive escalation to the Line Manager / Project Manager if required.
  • Support the other functions of Product Solutions as and when required.
  • Support to operations in DRMs.

Who you are:

  • Demonstrable experience using MS Word, Excel and Access at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to develop and analyse packaging formats.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Experience within a Packing Development role.
