As we continue our mission to make people and nature happy through re‑inventing chocolate, we’re looking for a Loss Prevention Specialist to join our Loss Prevention Team on a permanent basis. As Loss Prevention Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our Loss Prevention Manager in safeguarding Hotel Chocolat against theft, fraud, and financial risk. You will dive into complex data to uncover hidden patterns, support in leading thorough investigations and turning insights into action. With a sharp eye for detail and a knack for bringing data to life through impactful dashboards, you will help to deliver clear, impactful reports that support teams across the business to make smarter, safer decisions.

What you’ll be doing:
- Data Analysis: Analyse transactional and operational data to identify internal and external theft, fraud, and areas of financial risk. Detect and investigate unusual patterns or anomalies that indicate potential fraud or loss. Monthly crime reporting to highlight current and emerging trends. CCTV / Access control investigation and insights.
- Dashboard Creation and Reporting: Design, build, and maintain clear dashboards and visualisations to communicate loss prevention insights, enabling the broader business to understand and proactively manage risk. Development of exception‑based reporting to highlight internal and external theft and fraud across all channels. Provide regular reports highlighting risks, trends, and actionable recommendations to management.
- Investigation and Case Management: Conduct detailed investigations into identified incidents, gathering evidence to produce comprehensive investigation packs. Brand protection‑based investigations through social media/resellers/auction sites to identify internal and external exposures. Prepare and maintain accurate, detailed documentation aligned with company policies and procedures, ensuring clear communication to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaboration and Communication: Liaise closely with organisational stakeholders, clearly communicating findings and providing expert advice on loss prevention and fraud prevention measures. Promote awareness and understanding of loss prevention practices throughout the company. Collaborate/liaise with external agencies to understand emerging trends or threats. Evaluate current loss prevention methods and tools, making recommendations for ongoing improvements and efficiencies. Stay informed of emerging industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to loss prevention and risk management.
Who you are:
- Proven experience in a Loss Prevention, Fraud Analyst, or similar role, ideally in an omni‑channel retail or e‑commerce environment.
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualisation tools.
- Demonstrable experience in investigating financial fraud, theft, and internal/external loss cases.
- Strong report‑writing and presentation skills, able to communicate complex data insights.
- Knowledge of risk management software and investigative tools (e.g., exception‑reporting tools and CCTV analytics).
- Previous experience working within Loss Prevention or Investigations.
