Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen operation, ensuring every dish is prepared to the highest standard while supporting the smooth and efficient running of the restaurant.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, leads by example and takes pride in maintaining a well‑organised, high‑performing and profitable kitchen.

The Role

Kitchen Manager

, you will oversee the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen, ensuring exceptional food quality, efficient operations and full compliance with food safety standards.

You’ll lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team, manage stock and ordering, control food costs and ensure every service runs smoothly.

Working closely with management, you’ll help maximise profitability, minimise waste and deliver an outstanding dining experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Kitchen Operations
  • Lead the daily operation of the kitchen during service.
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of all menu items to company standards.
  • Ensure every dish is presented consistently and served efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and fully operational kitchen at all times.
  • Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation.
  • Ensure all food is prepared safely and in line with HACCP and food hygiene regulations.
  • Manage prep schedules to ensure the kitchen is ready for every service.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Leadership & Team Management
  • Recruit, train, coach and develop the kitchen team.
  • Lead by example, creating a positive and accountable working culture.
  • Schedule staff effectively to meet business needs.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Manage disciplinary and performance issues in line with company procedures.
  • Foster strong communication between the kitchen and front‑of‑house teams.
  • Stock & Cost Control
  • Manage stock levels and place supplier orders.
  • Carry out weekly and monthly stock takes.
  • Monitor food margins and work to achieve GP targets.
  • Reduce waste through effective stock rotation and portion control.
  • Ensure deliveries are checked, stored correctly and recorded accurately.
  • Food Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with Food Safety, HACCP, COSHH and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate food safety records and temperature logs.
  • Ensure all team members hold appropriate food hygiene knowledge and training.
  • Keep the kitchen inspection‑ready at all times.
  • Business Performance
  • Work with management to improve kitchen efficiency and profitability.
  • Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials.
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows and service.
  • Support new menu launches with recipe development, costings and staff training.
  • Help achieve labour, food cost and profitability targets.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance.
  • Experience managing food costs, GP and stock control.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional food and guest experiences.
