We are recruiting a Duty Supervisor to complement our dedicated, friendly and professional team at Portree Youth Hostel, part of the Skye Group. Naturally a great communicator who loves to work as part of a team. Someone who can support and respect their colleagues, as some of the teams live in depending on location.

About the role

  • Reporting to the Skye Group Manager, you will provide professional, efficient and effective day-to-day hostel supervision.
  • Deliver a high level of quality service and standard with the guest facility provision being welcoming, clean, comfortable, secure, safe, accessible and compliant.
  • Enhance guest experience and exceed their expectations, including dealing with direct guest feedback in a professional manner.
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure the health, safety and security of the guests and visitors at all times.
  • Assist the Group Manager in implementing strategic and operational plans, development priorities, statutory compliance, risk assessments, policies and procedures to achieve Hostelling Scotland’s charitable aims and objectives.

You will be part of a small team, which means successful candidates live and work closely with colleagues. It is therefore essential that all members are capable and willing to support and respect each other, maintaining team morale to create a positive environment for both guest and employee experience.

Suitable applicant will have:

  • Worked successfully in a customer facing role in similar hospitality surroundings and a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Excellent, confident communication skill, verbally and in writing, dealing with people at all levels.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work to changing workload and priorities during busy times.
