Hostelling Scotland is recruiting two Night Duty Supervisors to support overnight operations at Inverness Youth Hostel. This role suits someone experienced in night working who is calm, responsible, and confident overseeing safety, security, and guest experience during night hours.
The role
- Providing overnight supervision of guests, staff, and the building.
- Ensuring health, safety, and security procedures are followed throughout the night.
- Responding appropriately to emergencies including fire and evacuation procedures.
- Supporting overnight retail and drinks service and maximising sales opportunities.
- Maintaining a safe, welcoming, and orderly environment for guests and team members.
- Working as part of a small, close knit team and supporting colleagues as required.
Working pattern
Night shift role based at Inverness Youth Hostel. Fixed term contract running from March to November 2026. Live out position.
What we are looking for
- Experience of night working or a night duty supervisory role.
- Good leadership and decision making skills.
- Knowledge of fire safety and emergency evacuation procedures.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- A team focused approach and willingness to support colleagues.
- Holding a personal licence is desirable but not essential.
