GENERAL MANAGER - WEST BERKSHIRE
Salary: £50,000 + 10% Profit Share
Location: West Berkshire, near Newbury
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially minded General Manager to take the lead at a quality countryside gastro pub near Newbury.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on hospitality leader to join an ambitious independent business and play a key role in developing the operation, team and commercial performance.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the pub, leading the team and delivering an outstanding guest experience.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, motivating and developing the FOH team
Managing the daily operation of the pub
Driving sales, service standards and profitability
Managing labour, GP, costs and budgets
Working closely with the Head Chef to develop the food and beverage operation
Growing private dining, weddings, functions and events
Recruiting, training and developing the team
Building relationships within the local community
Identifying opportunities to increase revenue and footfall
Supporting the continued growth and development of the business
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for an experienced General Manager, Pub Manager or Restaurant Manager with a strong operational and commercial background.
You will ideally have:
Proven experience managing a busy hospitality operation
Strong leadership and people-management skills
Good understanding of P&L, GP, labour and commercial performance
Experience driving sales and developing new revenue streams
Excellent customer service standards
A hands-on and visible management style
Strong organisational and communication skills
The ambition and personality to make a genuine impact
